Just a few days ago, Neymar picked up another injury setback. Doctors advised him to rest immediately, warning that surgery might even be necessary. But the Brazilian superstar chose to ignore all medical cautions. He continued training against advice and eventually stepped onto the field—showing no visible signs of discomfort.
Instead, Neymar appeared more energetic than ever.

Santos Escape Relegation Trouble Thanks to Neymar
With only three games remaining in the Brazilian Serie A, Santos were battling relegation. Neymar’s new meniscus injury in his left knee only added to their worries. Yet the forward refused to let his team slip into the second division.
Taking a big risk, Neymar returned to action and scored in the 25th minute. The Brazilian legend later created another scoring opportunity, contributing to Santos’ 3-0 victory.
Santos received a pass near the edge of the box, dribbled past two Sport Recife defenders, and fired a low right-footed strike into the bottom corner. Later, Joao Smit headed in Neymar’s corner in the 66th minute to seal the win.
The stats showed a close contest in possession, but Santos were far more dangerous in attack—registering 17 attempts with seven on target. Recife managed only two on target from 11 shots.
The crucial win pushed Santos out of the relegation zone. With 41 points from 36 matches, they now sit 15th on the table with two fixtures remaining.
