Messi

Inter Miami achieved a historic milestone in the MLS Cup as Lionel dominated their clash against Nashville SC, scoring four goals and assisting twice. The Argentine superstar’s stellar performance not only secured Miami’s first-ever progression to the semifinals but also saw him reach remarkable personal milestones, including his 894th professional goal and 400th career assist.

Messi opened the scoring in just the 10th minute after capitalizing on a Nashville error, effortlessly maneuvering past defenders to find the back of the net. He doubled Miami’s lead in the 39th minute with a precise finish following a back pass from Mateo Silvetti. Miami entered halftime with a commanding two-goal advantage.

“Tactically, Messi is unmatched. He changes the game on his own, and tonight he proved why he’s still the best,” said Miami head coach Phil Neville after the match.

Assists and Goals: Messi’s Complete Performance

In the second half, Argentine midfielder Tadeo Allende netted two goals, both assisted by Messi. The combination play between Jordi Alba and Messi set up Allende for a volley and a precise back pass finish. With these contributions, he became the first active footballer to reach 400 career assists, a feat matched by only one other legendary player with 404 assists.

Miami dominated the Eastern Conference series against Nashville with an aggregate score of 8-3, with Messi involved in all eight goals. Their next challenge will be FC Cincinnati in the semifinals, scheduled for November 22 or 23.

“Every time Lionel touches the ball, he makes something extraordinary happen. Tonight, it wasn’t just goals; it was leadership, vision, and history all rolled into one,” Neville added.

Lionel’s four-goal spectacle and two assists cemented his status as a transformative player in MLS and brought Inter Miami closer than ever to their ultimate playoff dreams.
