Managerial Shake-Up Falls Flat as United Remain Winless

Manchester United

Manchester United have reshuffled their coaching staff following a disappointing run of results, replacing Ruben Amorim with Scottish coach Darren Fletcher. However, the change has yet to spark a turnaround, as United were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw by bottom-placed Burnley.

United had managed just one win in their previous five league matches under Amorim, prompting the club to act swiftly. The Portuguese coach, appointed in November 2024, won 25 of his 63 games in charge before being dismissed.

Manchester Early Setback, Brief Revival, Same Result

Playing away from home, Fletcher’s side started aggressively but suffered an early blow when an own goal put Burnley ahead in the 13th minute. Despite sustained pressure, United went into halftime trailing 1-0.

The Red Devils responded strongly after the break. Slovenian forward Benjamin Ε eΕ‘ko struck twice in quick succession, scoring in the 50th and 60th minutes to turn the game on its head. But Burnley hit back just six minutes later through Zydon Anthony, restoring parity and sealing a 2-2 draw.
