Nottingham Forest have confirmed the loan signing of towering Italian striker Lorenzo Lucca from Napoli, with the option to make the deal permanent for £30 million at the end of the season.
The 6’7 ” forward struggled for game time under Antonio Conte, making just four league starts behind Rasmus Hojlund at Napoli. Lucca now arrives at the City Ground eager to reignite his career and help Forest climb the Premier League table.

Forest Hope Lucca Sparks Survival and European Push
Forest manager Sean Dyche moved decisively for Lucca this month, seeking a striking option to cover for Chris Wood’s injury and Taiwo Awoniyi being out of favour. While Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen was also linked, the club prioritized Lucca for his unique physical presence and proven international experience.
Lucca, who has five caps for Italy, will wear the No.20 shirt, previously vacated by Jota Silva’s summer exit to Benfica. The forward now aims to rediscover the form he showed at Udinese, where he scored 14 goals in the 2022/23 season, to help Forest stay clear of relegation and compete in Europe.

Forest currently sit 17th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone, and are preparing for a crucial trip to Brentford. They also remain in contention in Europe, with an upcoming Europa League knockout play-off scheduled next month.
