Liverpool eased some of the pressure surrounding their inconsistent domestic form by producing a commanding performance in the UEFA Champions League. On the same night, Bayern Munich continued their strong European run with a comfortable 2-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise.

Reds Shine in Marseille

Bayern’s victory moved them back into second place on 18 points, three behind leaders Arsenal, with Real Madrid and Liverpool rounding out the top four.
