Litton Das Shines as Bangladesh Seal T20I Series Against Netherlands

Litton Das Stars as Bangladesh Clinch T20I Series Win

Bangladesh won the T20I series against the Netherlands 2-0, despite the final match being abandoned due to rain. Bangladesh posted 164 for 4 in 18.2 overs, led by a brilliant 73 from captain Litton Das, while Kyle Klein was the pick of the Netherlands bowlers with 3 for 53.

Litton Leads from the Front

With the series already decided, Bangladesh opted to rotate their squad ahead of the Men’s T20 Asia Cup. Litton Das opened the innings and quickly asserted himself, attacking Daniel Doram’s left-arm spin with a flurry of boundaries.

“In the third over, I just tried to play my shots and get the team off to a good start,” said Litton. “It was tough with the rain interruptions, but I focused on hitting the gaps and keeping my shape.”

Despite multiple rain breaks and stoppages—including a 37-minute delay—Litton remained composed, finishing with 73 off 46 balls. His innings featured clever shot selection and big-hitting, highlighted by four sixes and multiple boundaries.

Netherlands Fight Back Before Weather Intervenes

The Netherlands tried to claw back into the game after the rain interruptions. Aryan Dutt and Tim Pringle bowled disciplined spells to contain Bangladesh, while Litton was dropped twice, at 37 and 68, but those misses did not significantly affect the outcome.

Kyle Klein bowled with heart but was expensive, conceding 53 runs in his four overs, while also claiming three wickets. Bangladesh’s middle-order, including Nurul Hasan and Jaker Ali, contributed crucial runs to push the score to a competitive total.

“Despite the rain and the interruptions, we showed patience and tried to build partnerships in the middle overs,” said Nurul Hasan. “It was important to finish the series on a high.”

The match ended as a no-result, but Bangladesh had already secured the series 2-0, with the abandoned game serving as preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup.
