The Bangladesh Football League witnessed a dramatic day as Bashundhara Kings suffered their first defeat of the season, Mohammedan drew 1-1 with Arambagh, and Forties secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Fakir Pool.
In Gazipur, defending champions Bashundhara Kings, aiming to reclaim the league title, were stunned 2-1 by Police FC.

said a Bashundhara official after the match. Rabbi Hossain Rahul opened the scoring for Police in the third minute, with Faisal Ahmed Fahim equalizing for the Kings in the 32nd minute. Ugandan midfielder Shafiq Kagimu netted a decisive strike in added time, handing the Kings their first league defeat.
Mohammedan Draw and Forties Triumph
At Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium, Dhaka Mohammedan took the lead in the 26th minute through Mehedi Hasan Mithu, but Hakim Bappi equalized 13 minutes later. Arambagh goalkeeper Azad Hossain made a crucial save in the 76th minute to secure a 1-1 draw. Both teams remain in the relegation zone with just 5 points each.
Meanwhile, Forties moved up to second place in the standings with a commanding 3-0 win over Fakir Pool at the Kings Arena. This result positions Forties firmly behind the Kings, who still top the league with 16 points from seven matches. Police FC climbed to fourth place with 10 points following their upset over the Kings. βTodayβs win gives us confidence to push higher in the table,β said a Forties player after the match.

All three matches began with a minute of silence in honor of martyr Hadi, as the nation observes a day of mourning. Despite the somber moment, the league delivered intense action and significant shifts in the standings, signaling an exciting season ahead.
