Cricket fever runs deep across India, from city stadiums to remote villages. But few examples are as creative as a group of boys in Kashmir who have gone viral for their ingenious solution to a tricky problem.
Rope Trick Prevents Ball From Falling
Sohil Naseer, who has over 12,000 Instagram followers, regularly posts clips of matches played on a hilltop with his friends. To stop the cricket ball from dropping into the deep gorge below, they tie it to a lightweight rope anchored to a stone.
“𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒃𝒊𝒈 𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒍—𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆,” 𝑺𝒐𝒉𝒊𝒍 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉.
Their innovative technique has caught widespread attention online, with several of Sohil’s videos being shared widely.
Kashmir’s Rising Cricket Stars
Kashmir has become a growing hub for cricket talent in recent years, producing names like Parvez Rasool, Umran Malik, and Abdul Samad.
“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅. 𝑾𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒔,” 𝑺𝒐𝒉𝒊𝒍 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒅𝒍𝒚.
