Great news for GT, two deadly players are going to join the team

GT Set to Welcome Two Star Players Ahead of IPL 2025 Resumption

The remaining season of IPL 2025 will now be played from May 17. The BCCI announced the revised schedule late on Monday night, with the final to be played on June 3. Meanwhile, big news has come out from the Gujarat Titans camp. Two star players of the franchise, Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetzee, will join the team on May 14.

Let us tell you that on May 9, the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was stopped due to security reasons. And then the BCCI suspended the entire tournament for a week. At the same time, the players and staff stranded in Dharamsala were brought back to Delhi by special train.

Now, after the ceasefire was announced, the league is being resumed. Amidst all this, Gujarat Titans was the first team to resume training, which held a full three-hour session at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 10.

Jos Buttler and Coetzee will join the team

GT batsmen Butler and Gerald Coetzee were the only two overseas players to return home during the tournament suspension. GT’s entire overseas contingent will be available for the remainder of the tournament after the duo’s return on May 14. Other overseas players like Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Sherfane Rutherford and Karim Janat remained in India during the suspension.

However, Sherfane Rutherford‘s availability for the playoffs is uncertain as he has been selected in the West Indies squad for the ODI series in England from May 29 to June 3, the dates of which coincide with the IPL playoffs. Gujarat Titans are currently at the top of the IPL 2025 points table with 16 points from 11 matches and are in a strong position to make it to the playoffs.
