England’s star batsman Joe Root has created history by crossing the 13000 run mark in Test cricket. He has become the world’s fastest batsman to score 13000 runs, surpassing legends like Sachin Tendulkar , Jacques Kallis, Ricky Ponting and Rahul Dravid. Root achieved this feat on the first day of the ongoing only Test against Zimbabwe.
Let us tell you that the only Test match between England and Zimbabwe is being played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Batting first, the hosts scored 498 runs for the loss of 3 wickets on the first day of the match. Joe Root was out after scoring 34 runs. But during this 34-run innings, he did this big feat.
Joe Root crossed the 13,000 run mark in Test cricket in his 153rd match. He has now become the batsman to score 13,000 Test runs in the least number of matches. Before him, this record was in the name of South Africa’s Jacques Kallis, who achieved this feat in 159 innings.
