Initial Plans to Relocate to Goa Changed
Back in April, Jaiswal had applied for an NOC to switch to Goa, a step the MCA described as βsurprising.β However, just a month later, he formally communicated to the association that his relocation plans with his family had shifted, prompting his desire to stay in Mumbai cricket.
Strong Record in First-Class Cricket for Mumbai
Jaiswal, who is 23, has been part of the Mumbai cricket setup since his Under-19 days. He made his first-class debut in 2019 and has featured in ten matches, accumulating 863 runs at an impressive average of 53.93. His tally includes four hundreds and two fifties, with a career-best 181 against Uttar Pradesh in 2022.
Recent Injury Sidelines Him From Ranji Semi-Final
He was part of Mumbaiβs squad during the latest domestic season and played a Ranji Trophy fixture against Jammu and Kashmir, which Mumbai lost at home. Although he was set to appear in the semi-final against Vidarbha, an ankle injury he sustained while training ruled him out of the contest.
Currently With Indiaβs Test Squad in England
At present, Jaiswal is with the Indian Test team on their England tour. His century in the opening match at Leeds turned out to be in vain as India succumbed to a five-wicket defeat.
