IPL 2025

The ongoing 18th exciting season of IPL 2025 is currently being played between all 10 teams. Some teams have made it to the playoffs by performing brilliantly. At the same time, some teams are seen fighting hard to make it to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the IPL Governing Council has taken a big decision regarding the timing of the matches. Following the guidelines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Governing Council has increased the extra time set for the IPL match by one hour.

Starting Tuesday, May 20, all IPL 2025 games will have an additional waiting period of 120 minutes. Earlier, this period used to be just one hour and the BCCI said that the change in playing conditions is coming into effect with immediate effect due to the IPL rule (13.7.3).

According to reports, BCCI while communicating with all the 10 franchises said- Earlier, it was stipulated in the match playing conditions that for league matches, 60 minutes extra time will be available to start the match in case of delay.

In playoff matches, this time was increased to 120 minutes. In view of the current threat of rain and the revised schedule, the IPL Governing Council has decided that from May 20, 2025, all IPL matches (including league matches) will have an additional 120 minutes of time to start the match.

IPL 2025 playoff race gets exciting

Well, in the meantime, the battle for the remaining spot in the playoffs in the ongoing IPL 2025 has become quite exciting. After Gujarat Titans’ big win over Delhi Capitals by 10 wickets, not only Gujarat, but also Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore have qualified for the playoffs. So, now there is a battle between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals for the last remaining spot. In this sequence, an exciting match will be played between the two teams at Wankhede on 21st May.
