India vs Pakistan Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 Clash Set for October 5 in Colombo

The much-anticipated Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 will kick off on September 30, with host nation India facing Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. One of the tournament’s most high-profile clashes — India vs Pakistan — is scheduled for October 5 at a neutral venue, the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

India will also take on Bangladesh on October 26 in Bengaluru as part of the round-robin format. Meanwhile, defending champions Australia begin their title defense on October 1 in Indore against New Zealand. They will also face a key match against England, a rematch of the previous final, on October 22.

Due to ongoing political tensions and the BCCI-ECB hybrid agreement, Pakistan will play all their matches in Colombo. Their campaign begins on October 2 against Bangladesh, followed by fixtures against England (Oct 15), New Zealand (Oct 18), South Africa (Oct 21), and Sri Lanka (Oct 24).

England’s key matches include contests with South Africa (Oct 3, Bengaluru), Sri Lanka (Oct 11, Guwahati), and New Zealand (Oct 26, Guwahati).

Other important fixtures:

Bangladesh, who begin against Pakistan, will also play three matches in Visakhapatnam and face Sri Lanka in Colombo on October 20. South Africa will play New Zealand (Oct 6) and Australia (Oct 25), both in Indore.

This is the first time since 2013 that India is hosting the Women’s ODI World Cup. The tournament format remains unchanged from 2022, with eight teams competing in a round-robin format. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals.

The 2025 edition will not feature West Indies, who were edged out by Bangladesh on net run rate during qualifiers held in Lahore. The eight qualified teams include India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
