The 2026 T20 World Cup Venues have been finalized by the ICC as the men’s tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. In India, matches will be played at Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai, with Ahmedabad set to host the final, unless Pakistan qualifies, in which case the final will be moved to Sri Lanka.

In Sri Lanka, the ICC has shortlisted two venues in Colombo and one in Kandy, completing the three 2026 T20 World Cup Venues in the country.

2026 T20 World Cup Venues Schedule and Dates

The tournament will feature 20 teams and is scheduled to begin on February 7, 2026, concluding with the final on March 8, 2026. The ICC is expected to release the full schedule soon, including team groupings and fixtures. Ticketing details for the 2026 T20 World Cup Venues have not yet been announced.

According to the agreement between the BCCI and PCB, Pakistan will play all of their matches in Sri Lanka during the tournament. If Pakistan reaches the final, the fixture will also be held at one of the Sri Lankan 2026 T20 World Cup Venues to ensure a neutral setting.

The tournament will follow the same format as the previous edition. The 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five, with each team playing all others in its group once. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super-eight stage, where they will be split into two groups of four. The top two teams from each Super-eight group will then advance to the semi-finals, with the winners meeting in the final.

Apart from hosts India and Sri Lanka, the other teams with automatic qualification were the top seven teams from the 2024 T20 World Cup: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, United States of America, and West Indies. New Zealand, Pakistan, and Ireland qualified based on T20I rankings. Canada secured a spot through the Americas Qualifier, while Italy (making their T20 World Cup debut) and the Netherlands qualified from Europe. Namibia and Zimbabwe earned the two African spots, with Nepal, Oman, and UAE qualifying through the Asia-EAP round.

India enter the tournament as defending champions, having defeated South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados, and will aim to impress across all five 2026 T20 World Cup Venues in India.
