Dwayne Bravo

IPL 2024 was won by Kolkata Knight Riders.

West Indies’ charismatic all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who replaced Gautam Gambhir as the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders, has said that he will adopt his own methods for a successful campaign in the upcoming season of IPL. Gambhir was the mentor of KKR last season and then KKR won its third IPL title.

The defending champions have appointed Dwayne Bravo as coach ahead of the IPL 2025 season as Gambhir is now the head coach of the Indian team. Bravo said, “Unfortunately we could not retain some players in the team. I think Gambhir had his own way. I have my own style. We are both successful in our own ways.”

Dwayne Bravo made a big statement about coaching KKR

Bravo also said that he respects Gambhir’s legacy, but he will also follow his own methods in this role. The former West Indies captain, however, admitted that he took advice from Gambhir. Bravo said, “I have definitely sent him messages many times. I will rely heavily on these guys because they had a successful method. It is important that we follow that method.”

Dwayne Bravo stressed on the need to study and adopt the methods of success of the previous season and said that it is important to keep the core of the team intact. He said, “I think it would be disappointing for me not to try to learn some of the good things they did last season. The core of the team is right here.

It is our responsibility, the coach, me, Venky sir to go back to the auction and try our best to get back. It was our duty to go to the auction and try to get back the same team of players from the championship-winning team. And we were able to do that.”
