Hero Indian Open Golf Tournament Begins on March 27

Top golfers, including defending champions and multiple-time winners, are set to compete in the Hero Indian Open 2025.

The prestigious tournament will take place from March 27 to March 30 at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram.

This iconic event has drawn an impressive lineup of players, with early entries featuring top stars and past champions from the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Notable participants include Jacques Kruyswijk, Johannes Veerman, Julien Guerrier, Angel Hidalgo, Frederic Lacroix, David Ravetto, Ewen Ferguson, and Guido Migliozzi.

Leading the competition is 24-year-old defending champion Keita Nakajima from Japan, whose victory in the last edition brought him global recognition.

The Hero Indian Open 2025, with a prize pool of $2.25 million, is part of the Asian Swing, which also includes the Singapore Classic, China Open, and Hainan Classic.

The Hero Indian Open, co-sanctioned by the Indian Golf Union (IGU), offers the Indian Tour winner a full DP World Tour card for the next season. Last year’s runner-up, Veer Ahlawat, won the Indian Order of Merit and is now competing on the DP World Tour. Alongside him, two-time DP World Tour winner Shubhankar Sharma and Manu Gandas, who played on the DP World Tour in 2023, will represent India.

A rising star in Indian golf, teen prodigy Kartik Singh, has been in great form, securing Top-10 finishes in his last three international amateur events in South Africa and Australia.

Brijinder Singh, President of the Indian Golf Union, highlighted that the Hero Indian Open is one of Asia’s most prestigious golf tournaments. He expressed gratitude to Hero MotoCorp and the DP World Tour for their continued support, as the event helps showcase Indian golfing talent on the global stage.

Ben Cowen, Chief Tournament and Operations Officer of the DP World Tour, shared his excitement for the 58th edition of the Hero Indian Open. He praised the partnership with Hero MotoCorp and acknowledged the important role of the Indian Golf Union in growing golf in India. He also appreciated the DLF Golf & Country Club for providing a world-class venue.

Tusch Daroga, Vice President of DLF Golf & Country Club, expressed pride in hosting India’s national open for the sixth consecutive year. He assured that the course is in top condition and will provide an exciting challenge for players.

Entry to the tournament will be free for all spectators across all four days, offering fans an unforgettable golfing experience.
