The Indian team will tour England after the IPL ends. The five-Test match between the two teams will begin on June 20. Before this series, England had to face the West Indies in the white ball series at home.

England and the West Indies will first play a three-match ODI series, followed by a T20 series of the same number of matches. The English team has suffered a major setback before this series. Fast bowler Gus Atkinson has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series.

Gus Atkinson Ruled Out of ODI Series Against West Indies Due to Injury

Gus Atkinson has been ruled out of this series due to a hamstring injury. There is no clarity on whether he will be able to play in the upcoming Test series against India or not. The English bowler suffered this injury during the only Test match played against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge.

He bowled a spell of three overs on the third day of the Test match. After that, he left the field due to injury. Regarding Atkinson’s injury, the ECB official said that now he will rehab under the supervision of England’s medical team, and after that, a decision will be taken regarding his return.

The ECB said in a statement,

India and England will play five Test matches between June 20 and August 4 as both teams begin their new cycle of the World Test Championship.
