GB men

Matthew Richardson, Harry Ledingham-Horn, and Harry Radford set a new British record as they won gold in the men’s team sprint at the UCI Track Nations Cup in Turkey.

The British trio, who were the fastest in qualifying, set a record time of 41.788 seconds in the first round. Later, Ledingham-Horn overcame a slight deficit against Japan in the gold-medal race.

“We worked really well as a team to make it all come together,” said Richardson, who was racing with the GB squad for the first time after switching from Australia.

“It was our first time racing together as a team, so we were learning with every ride and trying to improve after each one.”

At the same time, Lowri Thomas, Lauren Bell, and Rhian Edmunds won silver for Britain in the women’s team sprint, with the Netherlands proving too strong in the final.
