Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has received a threatening email from a group identifying itself as ‘ISIS Kashmir‘ following his sharp reaction to the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, Delhi Police is now investigating the Gambhir threat email and has increased the security of Gautam Gambhir’s family in light of the situation.
Gambhir Reacts to Pahalgam Attack on Social Media
The tragic Pahalgam attack, which occurred two days ago, claimed the lives of 26 tourists and left over 20 injured. In response, Gambhir took to Twitter, writing:
“Praying for the victim families. Those responsible for this will have to pay the price. India will attack.”
Shortly after this post went viral, the former cricketer and former BJP MP received a threat, allegedly from ISIS Kashmir, raising concerns over his safety.
Security Agencies Take Immediate Action
After Gambhir informed Delhi Police about the threat on Wednesday, officials launched a formal terror threat investigation. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also been informed, and as a result, a security cover has been placed around Gambhir and his family residence in the national capital.
This is not the first time Gambhir has faced such threats. Back in 2021, he received a similar email during his term as a BJP MP, and again in April 2022, when another email read “IKillU,” prompting serious concern within Indian government security agencies.

The Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack. A high-level national security meeting was convened, attended by key figures including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Measures for border control, intelligence coordination, and swift response strategies have been discussed, especially concerning growing tensions with Pakistan.
