FIFA Unveils Record-Breaking Prize Fund for Women’s Tournament

FIFA

FIFA has announced a record-breaking prize fund for the Women’s Champions Cup, marking the largest financial allocation ever for a single tournament in women’s club football.

The competition, which begins next week at Arsenal’s home stadium, will distribute a total of $3.9 million (approximately 473.4 million taka) among the six participating continental champions. The event is being staged as a key stepping stone toward the Women’s Club World Cup in London in 2028.

FIFA Prize Breakdown and Match Schedule Revealed

FIFA confirmed that the tournament winner will collect $2.3 million, while the runner-up will take home $1 million. The two losing semi-finalists will each receive $200,000, and the teams eliminated earlier — Auckland United of Oceania and Wuhan Chegu Jiangda of Asia — will be awarded $100,000 each.

On the pitch, European champions Arsenal will face Morocco’s ASFA, while Gotham FC of the United States takes on Brazil’s Corinthians in the semi-finals. Both matches will be played back-to-back at Brentford’s stadium, with the final and third-place playoff scheduled at Arsenal’s ground on February 1.

For context, Arsenal earned just over €1.5 million for winning last season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League, highlighting the scale of FIFA’s latest investment. Meanwhile, the men’s 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will feature a vastly larger $1 billion prize pool, underlining the growing but still evolving financial landscape of women’s football.
