With no FIFA international window after November 2025, Bangladesh’s men’s national team has not played another official match since their memorable Asian Cup qualifier win over India on November 18. That victory lifted the Hamza-Jamal-led side to their best ranking in nine years — 180th — a position they continue to hold in the latest FIFA rankings released this week.
At the top of the table, there was also no movement. Spain remains the world number one, followed by Argentina, France, England, and Brazil. Portugal and the Netherlands continue to hold sixth and seventh place, reflecting a month of stability for the elite nations.

FIFA Rankings: Senegal and Morocco Spark Historic Climb After AFCON Glory
The biggest shifts in the rankings came below the top seven, driven by the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations. Senegal’s dramatic 1-0 victory over Morocco in the final has propelled both teams to new heights.
Morocco climbed three places to eighth — their highest-ever FIFA ranking — surpassing their previous best of 10th achieved back in 1998. AFCON champions Senegal surged seven spots to 12th, marking their strongest position in history.

Belgium, Germany, and Croatia each slipped one place to ninth, tenth, and eleventh, respectively. Elsewhere, AFCON bronze medalists Nigeria (26th) and Cameroon (45th) enjoyed the biggest jumps, climbing 12 places each. Algeria, Egypt, and the Ivory Coast also made notable gains, reshaping the middle of the global standings.
