The stage is set for an electrifying start to the second edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025), which begins on August 2, 2025, at the historic Arun Jaitley Stadium. After the inaugural edition’s memorable fusion of cricket and music, DPL 2025 promises to elevate the spectacle with an opening night full of glamor, beats, and excitement.

This year’s opening ceremony will feature high-energy performances from popular Punjabi artist Sunanda Sharma, rap icon Raftaar, lyrical rapper KRSNA, and the explosive hip-hop duo Seedhe Maut. The blend of sport and culture aims to celebrate Delhi’s dynamic spirit and draw fans into a season of unforgettable cricketing action.

Rohan Jaitley: “A Fresh Beginning for Delhi Cricket”

Rohan Jaitley, President of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), shared his excitement about the upcoming season:

DPL 2025: Season Opener Promises Fireworks

The curtain-raiser match will feature South Delhi Superstarz taking on the reigning champions, East Delhi Riders. Star players like Navdeep Saini, Anuj Rawat, Ayush Badoni, and Digvesh Rathi are expected to headline the action-packed opener.

The men’s tournament final is slated for August 31, with a reserve day on September 1 in case of rain. Meanwhile, the women’s competition will run from August 17 to August 24, showcasing emerging female talent in a fast-paced, week-long contest.

This edition of the DPL 2025 will see eight men’s teams and four women’s teams battle it out, with a strong emphasis on competitive balance and fan-driven excitement.
