After a great start in IPL 2025 , it seemed that Delhi Capitals would easily reach the playoffs. But later his team went off the winning track and his dream of reaching the playoffs was shattered. The team was knocked out of the playoffs with a 59-run defeat against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on Wednesday.
The grief of this defeat had not even subsided when the team got another shock. A key bowler of Delhi has been fined 10 percent of the match fee and punished with one demerit point for violating the code of conduct. Mukesh Kumar has been found guilty of a level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct. Due to this, this action has been taken against him.

In case of Level 1 violation of the Code of Conduct, the decision of the match referee is final and binding.
Mukesh Kumar took two wickets in the match against Mumbai Indians and registered figures of 2/48, but his final over proved to be expensive. Naman Dheer hit two fours and two sixes against him in that over. Mumbai posted a total of 180/5 and DC completely crumbled on the difficult Wankhede surface and the match slipped out of their hands.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians batted first at Wankhede ground on Wednesday and scored 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Delhi Capitals team was all out for 121 runs. In this way, Mumbai Indians won this match by 59 runs and confirmed the only remaining place in the playoffs. Suryakumar Yadav was chosen as the Player of the Match.
