DC Playoffs Scenario: Can Delhi Capitals still make it to the IPL 2025 playoffs?

IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals played their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on Monday, May 5. Batting first, Delhi team scored 133 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. After this, the second innings could not start due to rain and then the match ended without any result. Both the teams had to share 1-1 points.

Delhi Capitals is still in the playoff race even after this match. On the other hand, Hyderabad’s dream has been shattered. Last season’s runner-up missed out on a place in the top-4 this year. With three victories and seven points from 11 games, the club is presently ranked eighth in the standings. Meanwhile, let us tell you how the Delhi team can now secure its place in the playoffs.

How will the Delhi Capitals make it to the playoffs in the 2025 Indian Premier League?

After the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Delhi Capitals have 13 points and 6 victories from 11 games, good for fifth place in the standings. If DC loses even one of their next three matches, they will have to hope that no more than three teams have more than 17 points. In such a situation, Delhi will also reach the playoffs.

If DC loses two of their remaining three matches, they will have to hope that one of GT, PBKS and MI lose all their remaining league matches by a big margin. Delhi will have a chance to finish fourth with 15 points in such a situation.

On the other hand, if DC loses their next three matches, they will finish the season with 13 points, and there is no chance of them qualifying for the playoffs, since four teams have already earned 14 points: the Gujarat Titans, the Mumbai Indians, the Punjab Kings, and the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
