David Hemp was with the national team until the last T20 World Cup. Since then, Tiger, the batting coach, has been largely in the background. Hemp was not with the team for the West Indies series last December and the most recent Champions Trophy.
Hemp has not been in Bangladesh since the end of last year. He is spending his vacation with his family. However, Hemp has a contract with Bangladesh Cricket for another year, until February 2026. That is why the BCB is bringing this coach back to the country. When Hemp came to Bangladesh, he was the head coach of the High Performance Unit.
Later, he was added as the batting coach of the national team. Hemp will finally work for HP again. A source from the BCB’s HP unit confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post. He will be seen with HP in the upcoming new calendar. However, the BCB has not yet finalized the entire coaching staff.
It is not known when Hemp will come to Bangladesh. Meanwhile, senior assistant coach Mohammad Salauddin is currently handling the duties of the national team’s batting coach.
