N Srinivasan, Rupa Gurunath to Join CSK Board

CSK Directors: N Srinivasan and Rupa Gurunath Join Board

N Srinivasan and his daughter Rupa Gurunath are set to be appointed directors of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited (CSKCL), the company that owns the CSK franchise in the IPL. The CSKCL board has approved the move, which will be formally ratified at the annual general meeting on September 27.

At 80, Srinivasan has largely stayed away from public life in recent years, with Gurunath handling the franchise’s operations. This marks the first time Srinivasan will officially appear on the CSKCL board as chairman, while Gurunath will serve as a full-time director. Kasi Viswanathan continues as the managing director and CEO.

Other board members include former BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel, R Srinivasan, Rakesh Singh, PL Subramanian, V Manickam, and E Jayashree.

CSK’s Struggles in IPL 2025

The team endured its worst season in IPL 2025, finishing at the bottom of the table in tenth place with only four wins from 14 games. Initially led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK handed over the captaincy to MS Dhoni after Gaikwad suffered an injury in the fifth game.
