Why did CSK lose against Rajasthan Royals, MS Dhoni told the 2 biggest reasons

MS Dhoni

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered their 10th defeat in IPL 2025. This is only the second time in IPL history that Chennai Super Kings have lost 10 matches in a season. In 2022 too, the team lost 10 matches in a season. The team has to play one match against Gujarat Titans in the league stage. If the team loses in that too, then this will be the worst season in IPL history for Chennai.

MS Dhoni gave two major reasons behind the defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the match played in Delhi. He said that the team’s performance in the powerplay and the column of wickets were disappointing.

MS Dhoni made a big statement after the defeat against Rajasthan

MS Dhoni said at the post match presentation ceremony, “If you look at the number of runs we scored, it was a very good score but you also have to look at the number of wickets, because that puts pressure on the lower middle order that you might not be able to bat for 20 overs.

I think Brevis‘ innings was very good, he was capitalising on the opportunities and I think the run-rate was also good, this is the phase we want to improve a bit. I think the run-rate had improved, but we lost the momentum by losing 1-2 extra wickets.”

Regarding Anshul Kamboz, MS Dhoni said,

“𝙃𝙚 (𝙆𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙯) 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙨𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙜𝙪𝙣, 𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙤𝙬𝙡 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨.
