BCCI Asia Cup 2025

The 18th season of the IPL has resumed from May 17 after the situation on the border between India and Pakistan has now become normal. Meanwhile, the BCCI has decided not to play in the Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to be played in September, due to the tension between the two countries. The board has also informed the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) about its decision to stay away from all ACC events for the time being.

BCCI source gave big information

According to the report, the BCCI has also decided to pull out of the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka next month. The current ACC president is Mohsin Naqvi from Pakistan and reportedly the BCCI is not willing to participate in the tournament organised by the ACC as Mohsin Naqvi is its president.

According to the Indian Express report, a BCCI source said,

the sources also said that it would not be possible for the ACC to host the Asia Cup without the Indian team, as most of the tournament sponsors are from India.

India does not tour Pakistan for tournaments

Due to political tensions between India and Pakistan, the Asia Cup 2023 was played in a hybrid model. India refused to tour Pakistan, after which the team played all its matches in Sri Lanka. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the team won the title by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.

At the same time, India refused to tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 played this year, after which the tournament was organized in Pakistan and Dubai under the hybrid model. The Indian team played all its matches in Dubai and became the champion by defeating New Zealand in the final.
