Defending champions Barcelona continued their strong cup run by securing a 2-0 victory over Racing Santander at home to advance into the Copa del Rey quarterfinals. Although Hansi Flick’s side struggled to find rhythm in the opening half, the Catalans came alive after the break with goals from Ferran Torres and teenage star Lamine Yamal.

The win stretched Barca’s winning streak to 11 matches across all competitions — a feat they have now achieved for the fifth time in club history. Their longest run remains the legendary 18-game streak during the 2005–06 season.

Yamal and Torres Seal the Deal in Barcelona

Barcelona dominated possession with 77 percent of the ball, registering 17 shots, seven of them on target. Racing, meanwhile, managed just six attempts throughout the contest.

The breakthrough arrived in the 66th minute when Torres calmly finished after linking up with Fermin Lopez. Substitutes Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Pedri injected fresh energy, keeping Racing pinned back. In added time, Yamal exchanged passes with Raphinha before driving a near-post finish to double the lead and put the tie beyond doubt.

With the referee’s final whistle, Barcelona’s place in the last eight was confirmed. The Blaugrana now shift focus back to La Liga, where they face Real Sociedad on Sunday.
