Career Highlights and Explosive Innings
Asif made his T20I debut in April 2018 against West Indies after a standout performance in the PSL final for Islamabad United. He soon earned his ODI cap two months later. Although often underutilized, his brief cameos became match-defining moments.
One of his most memorable knocks came in the 2021 T20 World Cup against Afghanistan, where he smashed four sixes in Karim Janat’s over to help Pakistan reach the semifinals. In the 2022 Asia Cup, he repeated the feat against India, scoring 16 off 8 balls to take Pakistan to the final.
Legacy and Future Plans
Despite a declining role in recent years, Asif leaves behind a legacy of big-hitting and clutch performances. His last official match for Pakistan was against India at the MCG. He confirmed he will continue playing in domestic competitions and franchise leagues worldwide.
