Arsenal delivered a dominant 4-1 win over rivals Tottenham, reinforcing their Premier League title credentials. Eberechi Eze stole the spotlight with a historic hat-trick — the first in a north London derby since 1978 — as the Gunners moved six points clear at the top.
Despite being without key players like Gabriel, Odegaard and Havertz, Arsenal overwhelmed Spurs, who entered the match unbeaten away from home. Tottenham managed only three shots all game, finishing with an xG of 0.07, while Arsenal fired 17.
Eze, once rejected by Arsenal as a teen, called it a milestone moment in his career.
“Special day, man… I don’t think I could have ever dreamed of this,”
he told Match of the Day.
Eze’s Hat-Trick Makes History
Signed for £67m, Eze has quickly become a key figure under Mikel Arteta. After initial doubts about his role, he has stepped up in Odegaard’s absence, scoring decisive goals and now delivering his biggest performance yet.
He now has 18 goal contributions in 2025, more than any English player so far.
Arteta praised his attitude and growth:
“He wanted to train the day after England camp. That willingness makes a special player.”
With major fixtures ahead against Bayern Munich and Chelsea, Arsenal look strong — and Eze looks unstoppable.
