Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has urged Napoli fans to believe in head coach Antonio Conte after the Partenopei secured the Supercoppa Italiana, dismissing any doubts over Conte’s appointment.
The victory marks Napoli’s third Supercoppa Italiana title, joining previous wins in 1990–91 and 2014–15, and offers Napoli fans a reason to celebrate after a trophy drought in recent years outside the Maradona era.
Brazilian winger David Neres starred in the final, scoring twice against Bologna to clinch the trophy in Riyadh. He had previously netted in Napoli’s 2–0 semi-final win over AC Milan, further delighting Napoli fans with his attacking contributions.

The victory also provided a sense of redemption for Napoli fan, as the team had lost 2–0 to Bologna in Serie A earlier this season on November 9. Conte’s side ensured Napoli fans left the stadium with reason to cheer.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset, De Laurentiis praised Conte and reassured Napoli fan of the coach’s vision.
“Did you ever doubt Conte? We lost 2–0 at Bologna in Serie A, but here we responded when it mattered,” he said. “As my friend Joey Saputo says, this is a different tournament with a trophy at stake. Napoli fans can dream and enjoy this moment.”
He also teased a friendly rivalry with Bologna, promising Napoli fan that the next encounter in Naples would be a decisive showdown.
Squad Depth Gives Napoli Fans Confidence
De Laurentiis highlighted the contribution of squad depth in Conte’s 3-4-2-1 formation, with David Neres flourishing despite earlier limited playing time. His performance, including three goals in the Supercoppa and six goals with four assists in 22 appearances, has given Napoli optimism for the remainder of the season.
“Last season, injuries limited our options, but this year we invested heavily in the squad,” De Laurentiis said. “Napoli fans should be reassured knowing we now have more quality options to compete on all fronts.”
Napoli Fans Urged to Stay Grounded

Despite the silverware, De Laurentiis cautioned Napoli fan to remain focused as the team prepares for the next Serie A match against Cremonese on December 28.
He also reminded Napoli fan that winning two trophies in a single calendar year had not occurred since the Maradona era, highlighting the historical significance of the achievement.
“We must stay calm. Setbacks can happen,” he said. “Tonight was a celebration for Napoli fans, but our attention must remain on the challenges ahead.”
Looking Ahead
With the January transfer window approaching, De Laurentiis emphasized that Napoli fan can have confidence in Conte’s long-term plan.
“Conte is a maestro and quickly settled as a winner,” he said. “There is always a period where players must synchronize, and Napoli fans can trust that the team is progressing.”
Reflecting on past managerial transitions, De Laurentiis acknowledged criticism but reassured Napoli fan that the club remains committed to building a sustainable, competitive squad for the future.
“Napoli fans should dream, enjoy the present, and trust in Conte and the club,” he concluded.
