India batter Sai Sudharsan will miss fielding duties on Day 3 of the ongoing Test against West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi due to an impact injury sustained on Day According to a BCCI statement, the injury is not serious and Sudharsan is recovering well.

Sudharsan was fielding at forward short-leg when he was struck on the helmet grille by a powerful sweep from John Campbell in the eighth over of the West Indies innings. This occurred shortly after India declared their first innings at 518/5 in 134.2 overs.
Batting Heroics Before Injury
Earlier in the match, Sudharsan impressed with the bat, scoring 87 off 165 balls. He narrowly missed out on his maiden international century by 13 runs. During his innings, he struck 12 fours and shared a 193-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 175. Unfortunately, Sudharsan was run out while batting with skipper Shubman Gill, who remained unbeaten on 129.

India’s dominant first innings was supported by contributions from Nitish Kumar Reddy (40s) and Dhruv Jurel (44), while Jomel Warrican picked up 3/98 in 34 overs. India had earlier won the first Test in Ahmedabad by an innings and 140 runs, with Ravindra Jadeja named Player of the Match for his all-round display (104* & 4/54).
