BCCI Complaint ICC Against Farhan and Rauf in Asia Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially lodged a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) against Pakistan players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for their on-field gestures during the Asia Cup Super Fours clash in Dubai last Sunday.

According to reports, the complaint was sent via email on Wednesday, and the ICC has already acknowledged receiving it. If the accused players deny the charges in writing, a formal hearing could be scheduled with match referee Richie Richardson, while Andy Pycroft is also serving as a referee in the tournament.

Incidents Under Scrutiny

The controversy centers around Farhan’s celebration after his half-century and Rauf’s gestures towards fans while fielding on the boundary line. Both incidents have gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussions.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉-𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉,” 𝒂 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒅.

Meanwhile, in a surprising twist, it is also being reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has filed a counter-complaint with the ICC against India captain Suryakumar Yadav.

PCB Counters with Complaint Against Suryakumar

The PCB has alleged that Suryakumar’s post-match remarks after India’s earlier win against Pakistan on September 14 carried political undertones. After that game, Suryakumar dedicated the victory to the families of victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

“𝑾𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚,” 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒚𝒂𝒌𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒚.

The incident added more tension to an already heated rivalry. The Asia Cup has been marked by several controversial moments, including the much-talked-about “handshakegate”, when captains and players avoided exchanging greetings before and after matches.
