David Warner

Former Australian cricketer David Warner has predicted the winner of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) and the Player of the Match in the final. The former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) captain has backed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to win their maiden title.

RCB have qualified for the IPL final after nine years following their eight-wicket win against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1. Recently, a fan asked Warner to predict the winner of IPL 2025 and Josh Hazlewood as Player of the Match.

David Warner made a surprising prediction

David Warner was answering fans’ questions on social media. During this, Warner was asked Who do you think will be the winner of Tata IPL 2025? In response to this, Warner said, that I think Royal Challengers Bangalore will lift the IPL trophy this season. Along with this, the Australian legend has written that Josh Hazlewood will be the man of the match in this match.

Hazlewood was the standout bowler for RCB in their Qualifier 2 win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) as he returned figures of 3 for 21 in 3.1 overs. He is the third-highest wicket-taker of the tournament so far with 21 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 15.80 and an economy of 8.30. However, unlike last season, RCB have not had to rely on one individual to bail them out of trouble time and again, as they have nine Player of the Match winners this season.

RCB is a strong contender to win the trophy

RCB have lost all three of their previous finals in IPL history. However, this time the odds are in their favour as teams that won Qualifier 1 have won the IPL title 11 out of 14 times. Hence, the Rajat Patidar-led side looks like a strong contender to win the trophy this time.

Meanwhile, ahead of the final, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will face off in Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, June 1. The winner of this match will take on RCB in the final of the tournament at the same ground on Tuesday, June 3.
