Sri Lankan legend Angelo Mathews announced his retirement from Test cricket on Friday, May 23. The 37-year-old will play for the last time in the white jersey in the first match of the Test series against Bangladesh starting on June 17. He has also confirmed that he will continue to represent Sri Lanka in ODIs and T20s.

Angelo Mathews represented Sri Lanka in 118 Test matches. He made his debut against Pakistan in Galle on July 4, 2009. Mathews scored 8167 runs in 210 innings at an average of 44.62, which included 16 centuries and 45 half-centuries. At the same time, Mathews also took 33 wickets in 86 innings at an average of 54.48.

Angelo Mathews has played 226 ODIs for Sri Lanka so far, in which he has scored 5916 runs at an average of 40.52. At the same time, he has also taken 126 wickets in 163 innings at an average of 32.62 and an economy of 4.63.
