DDCA received a threatening email
The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) received an anonymous email on Friday, threatening to blow up the Arun Jaitley Stadium. It is worth noting that this stadium is the home ground of the Delhi Capitals franchise in the ongoing IPL 2025. A match of the postponed tournament was to be played here on May 11 between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans.
On the other hand, if we tell you about the tournament, it has been postponed for 1 week due to the current tension between India and Pakistan, the main reason behind which is the safety of the players. Meanwhile, this anonymous mail received by DDCA has increased the fans’ concern.
According to the Times of India, this mail received by DDCA said- A bomb will explode in your stadium. We have a committed Pakistani sleeper cell active in India. This explosion will be our revenge for Operation Sindoor.
On the other hand, a DDCA official confirmed this after receiving this mail and admitted that they have informed the Delhi Police about it. The official also said that the venue has been inspected.
This officer said in a statement- Yes, we have received a threatening email this morning, and we have forwarded it to Delhi Police. They have already swung into action and have inspected the spot some time ago.
IPL postponed for 1 week after Dharamsala match
Due to the increasing tension on the border between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed the current IPL 2025 by a week. After the air strike warning in many places, including Jammu in India, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala had to be stopped midway.
