Shakib

The scenario changed suddenly. The cricket stage for Shakib Al Hasan was uncertain even a few days ago. Shakib’s batting was already shaky due to eye problems. Along with that, a bowling ban was added. However, on March 20, good news came from Birmingham, England. After training under Gareth Batty, Shakib was cleared for bowling action.

After passing the bowling test for the third term, Shakib is no longer barred from bowling in the IPL, county cricket or international cricket. There is, however, a lot of doubt about whether this Bangladeshi all-rounder will be seen playing for the country again. The changed political situation is not in Shakib Al Hasan’s favor at all.

So, what is the point of keeping Shakib away from the field? After getting the bowling clearance, this Bangladeshi all-rounder has reportedly contacted three IPL teams. At least that is what Indian media outlet Sangbad Daily has claimed. Based on their own sources, they said that Shakib has held talks with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The media also gave a preliminary explanation as to why Shakib held talks with these three teams. They said that the spin department of these teams is relatively weak, which is why Shakib has shown interest in playing for them.

However, the IPL is starting from Saturday. As a result, Shakib’s chances of returning to the IPL are low right now. If someone gets injured or withdraws during the tournament, only then can Shakib get a chance. And for this, there will be time for up to 12 matches. However, Shakib has informed the franchises that he is fully ready to play.

It is worth noting that Shakib Al Hasan once regularly represented Bangladesh in the IPL. He won the title for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014. Apart from that, he played one season for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
