Brazil will play matches against Colombia and Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers this month. Neymar was also in the squad for these two upcoming matches. The team had planned around him. However, the forward was dropped from the team at the last minute. Enrique has been called up to the team instead of Neymar.
Neymar last played for Brazil in October 2023. He was out for more than a year after suffering an injury in a match against Uruguay. However, he recently recovered from that injury and returned to the field with club football.
Neymar also played several matches after returning from Al Hilal to Santos. He played 7 matches in the Brazilian football league. Where this star forward was in rhythm with the ball. He scored 3 goals and assisted 3 times in the league. Neymar seems to have lost his footing again in this mission to find himself!
Neymar was playing against Bragantino on March 2. He suffered a muscle injury in that match for Santos. He was ruled out again. Neymar will not be available for at least the next two matches, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has confirmed.
In a statement from the CBF, coach Darival Junior said, “After the team was announced, the medical department of the Brazil national team was inquiring about the physical condition of all our players, especially Flamengo’s Danilo, Santos’ Neymar and Manchester City’s Ederson. After the evaluation, it was decided to call Lucas Peri, Alex Sandro and Endric to the team in their place.”
